microwave problems? i just bought a microwave from sears spring of '05. I moved into a new apt and took it out of storage for which it had been for 3 months. it was working fine before and right after. about a month out of storage it would only work like half the time. sometimes it would cook the food and the other times it didnt cook the food. and now it doesnt work at all. is this fixable or what? its only a one and a half yr old! i dont have money for a new one this one cost like 300 and i am still paying for it along with my washer and dryer.

Problems with defrosting meat in the microwave? Hi, I was in the process of defrosting beef for a stew in the microwave and still had a while to go, when my son came home from school and wanted to heat up a snack. He did this then replaced the defrosting meat but did not change the dial to back to low. On hearing the finish bell I opened the microwave to find the meat bubbling and mostly cooked through. The lights turn on. The fan turns on but sometimes there is no heat. The keypad doesn't work. Some of the buttons do not work and some do. If I press the "start" button, nothing happens. If I press any of the numbers nothing happens. However, if I press like the pop corn button, fan comes on, light comes on but no heat. I also noticed that the door is fine but if I close the door and then try and open the door a little bit but it doesn't open, the fan comes on but no heat. I'm thinking I have a control board problem. I'm not sure. I also think I may have a door switch problem. If the microwave is off. I don't even press the keypad. The microwave door is closed. I open it but do not open it all the way, so basically it's still closed, the fan comes on and the light comes on but no heat. Keep in mind I haven't even touched the keypad. I just simply tried to open the door but didn't open it. What gives. Help

microwave problems with the door? i installed a new over the range microwave fan combo and it has been working wonderfully, until recently i went to go warn up some food and after it was finished the cycle, i went to open it with the door release button but it would only go in and the door would open. after jimmying the release the light would not turn on, until you pressed the release Button again. Frigidaire Microwave Oven Problems. Recall? I have a Frigidaire/Electrolux Microwave Oven. Model # PLMB 186CCB Manufactured in 10/2003. About 4 months ago, I was melting some butter and the microwave started sparking as if metal had been placed in it and turned on. I immediately opened the oven and then reset the timer and tried again. Once again, it started that sparking and it was making very loud "Zapping" noises. I gave up and didn't think about it again until about 3 weeks later when he same thing happened. I decided to completely rinse out the inside of the oven and also thooughly wash the glass rotating dish inside. I didn't have anymore occurances until 3 days ago when I was heating up some coffee and I had left the room to give my baby a bottle and when I returned (approximately 30 seconds later) the oven was on fire inside! A hole was burned through the top of the oven and after contacting Frigidaire, they told me that my warranty was up but they would give me a 50% rebate on my next Frigidaire microwave oven. Thing is, when I asked the service rep about what had happened, his response to me was "Yes, i've had other calls where the same thing has happened". So i'm thinking they really should be replacing my microwave. I mean, if they knew about this sort of thing taking place (the rep called it "spontaneous interior combustion") shouldn't they be recalling the oven? Anyone know of someone I can contact regarding this issue? Frigidaire doesn't give out their email addresses, it's one of those form pages that you send to them. So i'm just thinking if this is something that happens, consumers should be aware of it. Any info would be great. Thanks

Can I still use the microwave without the plate, should I put like a dinner plate in there, or should I put like a paper towel or something? Thanks! Microwave problems? Can I still use it? So I just tried melting some chocolate in the microwave because I'm making a dessert. I put some chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and warmed it up for 40 seconds. It wasn't completely melted so I warmed it up for another 55 seconds but before it was done I smelled something and smoke was sort of coming out of the inside so I quickly stopped it. There was a lot of smoke inside. I took out the chocolate and part of it was sorta squishy but the other part was REALLY hard and there was black spot on it because it was burned. So was this smoke from the chocolate are is there something wrong with the microwave? The smell wasn't horrible bad because it did smell like smoke/chocolate. I tried warming up more chocolate after that in a different bowl for 10 seconds twice and 15 seconds once and nothing happened. I warmed it up more than once so I could mix it together a little. So what do you think? The microwave is only like three years old. Maybe less.

Pansonic Microwave Problems? Panasonic Microwave OVEN, Model # NN-T785SF Whenever the start button is depressed,you would hear a click,the oven light comes on and the fan also. In about two(2) or three(3) seconds afterwards you would hear another click,the oven light and the fan would gone/turnoff. There is no heat - none at all!!! What is wrong here?.Need some advice Thanks in advance Th timer is normally set and countdown but it does not complete its time period when it clicks off. For e.g. If i set a time period of 3 seconds it would count down to 2 seconds then turn off,if i set a time period for 1 minute it would turn of within 5 seconds and if i set a time period for 2 minutes, within 5 seconds it turned off. Microwave Ovens = Fertility/ Pregnancy Problems? Is there anybody out there who can help put my mind at rest? My hard working spouse (2 jobs) has given me a brand spanking new Microwave oven for our fifth anniversary, as you can guess I'm absolutely thrilled with it or at least I was. Does re heating chicken,meat,fish etc in the microwave multiple times cause problems with the food? I eat so many spicy and hot in temperature foods that my taste buds have been kinda de-sensitized to heat on foods, so when i am eating a meal i will sometimes stop and re heat the fish, chicken or meat throughout the meal in the microwave so its sizzling hot again. I sometimes re heat the meals I have 1 or 2 times throughout the process of eating it because if my meal is not super sizzling hot ( temperaturewise) i cannot enjoy it which sometimes causes the meat, fish, or poultry to get overcooked. Is it harmful or unhealthy at all to reheat meals to the point of sizzling hotness multiple times?.. if so i would like to know please and ty :)

Microwave tripping reset button on electrical socket? When we plug our microwave in, it pops the reset button on the electrical socket. It runs fine once it's plugged up--doesn't cause the lights to dim, doesn't pop the reset button again, no problems we can see. We didn't have this problem with our previous microwave. Both were/are pretty old, as in over 10 years old. Should we just ditch it? I don't want to burn the house down. We're leaving it unplugged when we're not at home, and keeping an eye on it when we are.

I have just bought a convectional microwave oven but not enough space at the top? I have placed this in an open cabinet space in my kitchen (where i had my previous convectional microwave). According to the installation instructions I should have 13 cm free space at the top of the microwave, but I only have 4cms. Will this do any harm and, if so, what could happen? How can i melt Nair Microwave Wax (read the details below)? It says on the leaflet not to use defrost or cook when melting the wax in the microwave. The problem is that our microwave doesn't have the button for heating. It has only defrost and cook. Can i just press the cook for melting it or are there other options to melt it? What would happen if I put my cell phone into the microwave? I got my phone about a year and a half ago. Since then I have had non-stop problems with it. I was luckily enough to buy the extend warranty, but something needs to be seriously wrong with my phone in order for them to replace it.
