baking homemade bread in a large microwave? good idea or not? i am trying to save money on electricity and groceries so I decided to cook my own food. Can I make homemade bread and bake it in the microwave? I was told that it might not be edible because the microwave is normally used for reheating food. I don't mind if the bread isn't like oven baked bread but that it's edible and won't make me sick.
Who knows how to build a universe microwave? I need help building a microwave large and powerful enough to microwave the entire universe. Ideally it should destroy itself through the microwave process, because once the universe is cooked we cant have a huge microwave sitting around in nothingness. I have an unlimited budget for this project, and require scientific knowledge to help design and build this microwave. I don't want to end up microwaving the universe, so don't worry too much, I only want the ability to do so if necessary, before someone else does.

What type of microwave oven should I purchase? I own a restaurant we use our two microwaves constantly to prepare a number of the items we offer. Will microwave work if I cut a hole in the door? Sounds like a stupid thing to try and trust me I won't. But out of curiosity will a microwave still work if you cut large hole in the door? I know microwaves have lots of safety features so that if the door is open it wouldn't work but are there ways around the safety features such as cutting a hole in it or is there something that prevents that from working?
I'm interested in trying to build a Microwave Plastic Sheet dryer.? I want to build a faster oven for drying plastic sheets. I currently us an 8'x8' low temp gas oven but need to dry more material faster. I've seen info on a woodworker that built a Microwave dryer for large wood projects and wonder if the same technology can be used to dry plastic. A major concern of course is containing the microwave radiation. I'm open to any safe ideas.
Is it safe to use a microwave if the plastic cover in the roof has broken? There were plastic screws securing a plastic cover in place inside my microwave, at the top. It looks like it was covering the microwave element; the screws have broken and there is a large metal circular object showing now. Is it still safe to use the microwave? I'm not sure if the cover had a purpose other than to cover the roof over and catch food splats.

Is it safe to paint the inside of microwave? Hello, I burnt food in my microwave which left yellow stain on the walls. So i used Easy-Off heavy duty oven cleaner. I sprayed and let it stand overnight. Next day, As i was wiping the chemicals off i think the cleaner also took off a layer of paint. The areas are large. Whole inside bottom and lower part of the side walls. I saw places that sold microwave touch up paint. Can i use that to repaint? It's a built in microwave too expensive to replace. Thankyou.

Is it safe to cook food in my microwave? My microwave had a hole in the top plate, which was apparently caused from not covering the food in it, and then a large amount of grease getting stuck. I have replaced the plate and sealed it as the instructions said to. However, I just want to make sure it is safe to use. If there is a small space between the microwave and the new plate, can any radiation or microwaves get into the food and harm me? Thanks in advance!
Do you have any microwave meal ideas? I am looking for nutritious meals that can be cooked in a microwave, that are also cheap. I have an extremely limited budget for food. The microwave is very small (can barely fit a dinner plate, and is barely higher than a large cereal bowl), and takes longer than usual to cook- a cup of Ramen takes 3 min instead of 2, for instance. My daughter is getting tired of Ramen, cups of Mac 'n cheese, and sandwiches. Any suggestions are appreciated!
How would you Microwave & BBQ Turkey Thighs? I have 3 large thighs that I'd live to BBQ today but I'd like to have them somewhat cooked before giving them over to my hubby to finish them off. They have the skin on and bone in and are defrosted. I'd like to microwave them instead of heating up the kitchen with the stove oven. My microwave is 900 power and the thighs weigh 1.76kg (whatever that means). Thanks for your help.

I need a new microwave and I'm tempted to go with a convection microwave. Any thoughts? My old microwave finally went after after 11 years...bummer! I know I need a high watt, large capacity 1.8 to 2.0 cu. ft. one, but I also think a convection microwave would be nice. I know I will give up between .5 and .3 cu. ft of space going with the convection. Normally, I use my microwave for reheating, however the features of a convection microwave sound nice. Any opinions?
