  3. A good micro wave uses up to 80% less energy then an oven apparently...that was told to me by a Methodist minister, so it should be right.

  5. No definitely not. Heat is a form of energy and is emitted in waves. A microwave produces more waves so it heats faster. There is no difference in heating something over an open fire than a in microwave except for speed and economy. A microwave is, in fact, just a very high pitched whistle where the sound waves agitate the molecules of water in food and increases their temperature. It is good for the environment because it uses less power to cook food than any other form of cooking. Microwaves do not produce harmfull radiation they just radiate sound waves which will dissipate in less that 25cm in free air.
