Microwave Problems

When is it necessary to get a new microwave?

I recently noticed that on the inside door frame of our microwave there are little burn marks. None of them are extremely large, however some are worse then others. I have tried to find information on this, and have come up with nothing. Is it time to get a new microwave or is this normal and okay?

  1. when your food starts talking to you
  2. I have had those "burn" marks before...it came from someone putting something metal in the microwave...maybe a foil burger wrapper..or my favorite...a Chinese food container..with the little metal handle. After a period of time the microwave just did not cook things evenly....as long as it still cooks ok..i would not run out and replace it.
  3. never -as long as you have a working oven or stove, you don't need a microwave. replace yours when it stops working.
  4. Burns such as those you describe are caused by a faulty magnatrometer. Hate to say, but looks like it's time to replace the machine.
