Microwave Problems

How long do you bake 5 large baking potatoes?

I usually make potatoes in the microwave but this year my friends father is coming for Easter and he does not like microwaved foods. It's been so long since I cooked a potato in the oven I have forgotten how. Just need to know about how long to bake 5 large baking potatoes and at what temp. Thanks in advance.

  1. I would do at least an hour and a half for 5 large potatoes. Wrap in foil and poke several times with a fork. 90 Mins should be fine but I would check them after an hour just to be sure and go from there.
  2. How to cook a baked potato Conventional oven method: Pre-heat oven to 450°F. Wash and dry potatoes. With a fork or sharp knife, pierce each potato 2 or 3 times. Place on cookie sheet or baking pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.
  3. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Scrub the potato, and pierce the skin several times with a knife or fork. Rub the skin with olive oil, then with salt. Place the potato in the preheated oven, and bake for 90 minutes, or until slightly soft and golden brown. Slice the potato down the center, and serve with butter and black pepper. Potatoes are done when fork easily slides into the potato
  4. 1. Rub each potato with butter or olive oil 2. Sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper and minced garlic 3. Poke several holes in each 4. Wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 6. Place potatos on baking rack so that there is ample space between them. 7. Plan on cooking them between 1 hour and 1 1/2 hours. Check by gently squeezing them. If they "give" then they're done. 8. Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes before removing foil. 9. Make a cut down the middle and push from both ends to release the "center" of the potato. Fill with butter, sour cream, chopped chives, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. Season with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.
