can manicotti be reheated in the microwave and eaten the next day?
i wanted to make a large batch of manicotti tonite for dinner so we can have the leftovers real quick when i get home tomorrow night so my husband will be on time for a meeting. how realistic is this? should i even attempt reheating this in the microwave? reheating it in the oven is not an option because there isn't enough time. my husband is super grumpy on these days so i want to know if this will work before i get yelled at!

- def, it will prob be better the next day since the flavors have time to set in over night, yummy enjoy
- yes it is a pasta dish so it is easily and best re-heated in the microwave. you can also freeze these dishes up to 3 months to re-heat and eat later as well.
- sure thing...it might even be tastier...
- it will still taste fine in the microwave. it might end up a little crunchy. but it should do the trick!!
- Hi oh my, Take it from an Italian. It will taste much better 2nd time around! Dan
- Yes this will work just fine. I'd reheat it in large single servings for the quickest result. This would mean 1 to 2 minutes per plate for manicotti straight out of the fridge.
- Yes, you can! They are sometimes even BETTER the next day in the nuker. As a personal preference, I think it works better to microwave such dishes one plate at a time rather than trying to reheat all of the leftovers at once. If your husband yells at you, tell him to cook his own damned dinner.
- they can, cover tightly with plastic and add a few drops of water before putting in oven be careful not to microwave too long or they'll dry out hope this works out for you i don't want you to get yelled at either!
- Lightly cover with 2 layers of a damp papertowel. You can/should also sprinkle on a little fresh cheese to melt. Other good ideas for thses meeting nights are to slow cook beef, pork, or chicken (or buy a rotisseri chicken at the store) cook up lots of veggies such as onions, bell peppers etc... and make into a quesdalla. Add chopped tomatoes or salsa if desired just before folding to tortilla over or adding the second layer. YUMMY.
- Yes - this definately works. Make sure you keep it covered while it's cooking.
