Why did my Whirlpool microwave quit working when it was running .. a 10 yr old over the stove model?

This model was recalled when new and they sent us a $50 Check to buy a new table top micro because of the time that was needed for repair. So this micro had had limited use as the tabletop when easier for the kids to use .. The $ 50.00 still working, the $400.0 not working , circuit breaker is fine power outlet finebut no power to the microwave ..

1. Ten years is a good run for a microwave these days, things just don't last like they used to, sorry to say. Its not just usage, its time that seems to limit its use.
2. because it's 10 years old.
