Microwave Problems

Whirlpool over the range microwave is making 'plopping' 'thumping' sounds. Any idea what is wrong??

Whirlpool 'over the range' microwave is making 'plopping' 'thumping' sounds when I use it at any setting (1-10) for any amount of time. It is not from the ventilation part running. The sound is coming from inside when I am using the microwave. Any idea what is wrong??

1. maybe the turntable is off balance
2. Do you have a turntable inside the microwave? It may be that the plate to the turntable is not placed correctly. Mine does that when I don't put the plate back in right.
3. Sounds like the turntable to me also. If not, the only other moving part should be the fan, not sure why it would be acting up unless a bearing has quit.
