Microwave Problems

1990 Whirlpool over the range microwave. No manual. I want to replace it. There are no screws in cabinet above?

How do I remove the unit? It is also, vented. Do I need to take the vent in the upper cabinet off to get the unit out?

1. Yes you need to remove the vent.The screws you are looking to remove are in the cabinet above, One to the far left front and one to the right front of your cabinet above,Does that make sense? It should then tilt down a bit then lift up and out. Its all one unit. Good luck and God bless.
2. Bill is correct with his "removal" advice. However, he forgot the safety disclaimer. Unplug the OTR microwave first. You'd be well advised to have a helper and pull the range out from under it. Especially if it's a glass top range. Have a good day :)
3. If there aren't any screws above the unit, they may be inside the grille part on the front of the unit. Try taking it off and look for screws, I think that's where mine were. I don't think you have to mess with the vent. It's been over 10 yrs since I used to work on my Whirlpool so please excuse my memory lapse.
