Microwave Problems

My microwave blows the home circuits?

This happened today. My mum cleaned the microwave, and we lost all the power. We had to flick the switch, to get power again. This happens when the plug to the microwave receives power. It is from February 2005, and is a Sanyo. Please help! We need it for our dinner tonight! Is it "Dead" or can it be repaired? Thanks.

  1. Just cleaning the microwave shouldn't cause this problem. Something else happened while it was being cleaned. Perhaps the cord was aging and moving it caused a short. Perhaps some of the cleaning liquid got into a place where it shouldn't have. A connection may have failed just by chance at this time. It's hard to tell what might have happened. You have a choice of having it looked at by a repair shop or replacing it.
