Does using Microwave during pregnancy will have bad effect on my baby?
I am six weeks on the way, and Microwave is an important part of my day since I normally cook food ahead of time and in quite a large quantity. I keep it in different small containers each enough for one time eating. But now I am a bit worried if it has bad effect on my baby?

- No. It's not going to harm anything.
- Microwaves are made much safer now than they were 20 or 30 years ago. Virtually no radiation escapes it. They still advise to stay atleast 2 feet away from it while it's on, but that's mainly for 'just in case' safety measures. You, and baby, will be fine.
- Don't stand next to it while it is running and you should be fine. I am more concerned about your containers. Because of the chemical leaching that can occur from heated plastic, you need to get some ceramic type dishes for heating food. Yes, that may be overprotective, but I just think it's a smart idea. Heck, they are finding teflon in the fat tissue of many women today. Reduce the pollution in your body. Stick with inert materials.
- Microwaves are free from radiation . Its safe unless you keep door open and start the machine. U wont do it. Would u?
- Microwave is safe during pregnancy as it does not rediates. Think about your containers--they must be micro-oven proof plastics.
- There's no substantive research to support any concerns about using microwave ovens during pregnancy. Heating something in a microwave doesn't expose you to any significant radiation.
