Microwave Problems

Converting Microwave Instructions to Oven?

My recipe for Carrot cake reads: 4. Place the batter in a large buttered ramekin. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Serve. I would rather place the batter in an oven. How would I convert that information to know how long to place it into an oven for?

  1. Sorry, I would need to see the entire recipe in order to offer a suggestion. Usually these single serving cakes are developed for cooking in a microwave and won't turn out too well in an oven. If you wish ot make carrot cake in the oven, this is a link to one of my favorite recipes. You can always freeze the leftovers. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/carrot-pineapple-cake-i/
  2. I'd say do the 5 and test method, put them in at around 400 or so, and check them every 5 min until they're done, according to the toothpick poke.
  3. A good 20-30 minutes in the oven at 350 degree would do..but check to make sure it doesn't burn..at about 20 minutes I would check it..=)
