Microwave Problems

Whirlpool microwave won't cook.?

I have a ten year old Whirlpool Gold above the range microwave. During the last two months, when the microwave is started, it starts...pauses for about one second...and resumes starting and cooking. Today, it constantly cycles between starting and pausing without cooking. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether I should repair or replace and typically, how easy is the replacement?

  1. Personally, I'd replace it. Lowe's and other such home repair places can help you out with that. Or a handyman.
  2. It's old, outdated and should be replaced with a new, more efficient model. It should be a fairly easy switch as many models can be either hung over the range or used as a stand alone microwave.
